Who is Maya Jama?
Maya Jama is a 26-year-old presenter of Somali and Swedish descent who was born in August 1994.
She was named after civil-rights activist and celebrated poet Maya Angelou because her mum read the famous poem, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, during her pregnancy.
Maya made the move from Bristol to London aged 16 to pursue her broadcasting career, and set up her own YouTube channel as well as landing a gig as a presenter for JumpOff.TV.
Maya then became the host of MTV Base show, The Wrap Up, before moving on to host MTV Essentials and MTV News.
She's gained more and more popularity over the years, especially when she hosted a travelogue called Copa 90's Maya's FIFA World Cup Cities during the 2014 World Cup.

Aside from her TV work, the former BBC Radio 1 host, 26, has enjoyed success with fashion collections with PrettyLittleThing and JD Sports, and has modelled for brands such as Adidas and Maybelline.
Maya hosted the Friday and Saturday 10am-1pm shows on BBC Radio 1 before leaving in May 2020.
She also fronted the first series of Channel 4's The Circle alongside Alice Levine along with hosting for Channel 5 star documentary Swipe Right for Sex.
Maya also joined former England footballer Peter Crouch on his Save Our Summer show.
In 2016 she was named as a Rising Star for 2016 by Hello Magazine.
She also appeared in the Children in Need Weakest Link special in November 2017 and has also appeared as a guest on I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp on ITV2.

More recently, she joined Celebrity Juice as a regular panellist as she called it her "dream come true".

The Sun's Bizarre revealed that Maya had become a millionaire after working her way up the showbiz ladder.
An insider said: "Maya has been grafting for years, honing her craft, but this year she’s really come into her own.
"After leaving Radio 1 in May she said she had exciting projects and she wasn’t wrong. Landing a presenting gig alongside Peter Crouch on his BBC primetime TV show Save Our Summer was massive, and it’s just the start."
According to a report by Capital FM, Maya Jama is worth £1.5million.

When did Maya Jama date Stormzy?
Maya and Stormzy dated in secret for over a year before they slowly began going public with their romance in 2016.
The rapper dedicated his song Birthday Girl to Maya on her 22nd birthday, something which she said was a "great present because it will last forever."
She has made appearances in some of his music videos, including Big For Your Boots, and the pair would regularly make red carpet appearances together.
Prior to their split, Stormzy was ready to propose to his other half.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best."
In June 2019, fans assumed that Maya and Stormzy had split after she was pictured in a cab with Liam Payne following a boozy night at the Serpentine summer party in Kensington Gardens.
The pair were seen clambering into the backseat of a taxi as the night came to an end, with 25-year-old former One Direction star beaming in the front.
However, it was nothing more than an innocent encounter.
The Sun exclusively revealed on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 that the pair had decided to go their separate ways.
It is believed the two ended their four year relationship to "focus on their careers".
The grime artist was seen celebrating her 25th birthday party with her at Night Tales bar in Hackney, East London a week prior.
A source said: “Maya has moved out of their home in South West London.
“The decision isn’t one she has come to lightly, but ultimately the relationship has come to an end.
